Overview
At present, the main roughing method of tantalum niobium ore is gravity separation. Due to the low grade of tantalum niobite and the relatively high density of useful minerals, it is most suitable to use gravity separation with relatively low-cost method for roughing separation.
The general process to process this type ore is washing--jigging rough separation--concentration--drying--magnetic separation.
Widely Used Coltan With Sticky Clay Solution
1.Feeding : Before feeding, there designed with a grizzly bar to separate the bigger particles that need to crush to get the
coltan particle. The smaller one go to trommel scrubber directly.
2.Washing:use the trommel scrubber to wash the clay, with the screen part of the trommel, it can separate one or two or three partcicles based on the mineral info.
3.Concentration: use jig machines and shaking table for selecting the coltan concentrate. After shaking table, three disc magnetic separator is also widely used for upgrade the coltan grade.

The trommel is primarily used to remove water-soluble clays, deleterious materials and coatings providing a cleaner product. Our trommels washing screen are notable for its economy and efficiency, whether it is used in cleaning sand, gravel, or washing crushed stone and various ores. Our machine adopts the latest cutting edge design. The outer screen is divided into two halves, And they are tightly connected by bolts. The trommel screen inside built with a robust cylinder design, those screen panels are very easy to replace, and you can choose from urethane, rubber, punch plate, or wire cloth media. The drive part is powered by a group of model K127 reducer, and each reducer is equipped with 2 renewable tires. Units integrate abrasion-resistant steel or thick rubber liners, are secured into the scrubber drum to prevent wear and drum leakage. All the seams on a solid shell scrubber are welded to withstand the continual shock loading.
The outside water supply pipe for trommel scrubber is high-quality Q235 steel material, it has a big flow capacity and withstands high pressure. The continuous lifting and dropping action combined with water helps to abrade, scrub, and break down soluble contaminants. Optional trommel screen extensions can be added to provide rough product separation, screening and dewatering capabilities.
Vibrating Screen
2. Vibrating Screening is another important part, it is used to separate material according to its size. Material is typically fed to a single-, double- or triple-deck screen to make the required sizes. The main water pipe of the vibrating screen adopts flange joint, which can easily connect the external water pipe with the machine.
Through spray high-pressure water, it separates and washes material to obtain a good sieving effect. The material must go through or over a specified size to end up in the right pile. Unlike the crushers, Vibratory Screens cannot produce the material; they can only size material that is already reduced to the product sizes.
Under the screen slurry tank, there is a flange connector, it is convenient to connect the vibrating screen and pipe, and the tank lining with 4mm thick rubber plate, making it more wear resistance. The tank is also equipped with a discharge chute and access door, which can be opened for maintenance. The driving shaft of the vibration screen, is made of high-quality DIN C45 Steel material. Material is typically fed to a single-, double- or triple-deck screen to make the required sizes.

50 TPH Rock Coltan Tin Ore Processing Plant
This setup is for a rock coltan tin ore processing plant. The Flowchart Explanation is as below.
1. The vibration feeder is for feeding raw material to the jaw crusher smoothly and stably.
2. Jaw crusher is primary crushing big stone to a smaller size less than 100mm, then output goes to cone crusher by conveyor.
3. The cone crusher is a secondary crushing machine for crushing rock coltan tin to about 30mm, then output sends to vibration screen.
4. The vibration screen(with 30mm screen mesh size) for screening out below 0-30mm sending to the storage bin, oversize +30mm send back to cone crusher to crush again.
5. The 0-30mm material on the storage bin will go to hammer crusher as fine grinding machine to grind material 0-2mm fine powder, so to release the coltan and tin from rock.
6. The output 0-2mm slurry from the hammermill will be pumped to the jig separator to concentrate heavy coltan tin.
7. The primary heavy concentrate ore discharged from the jig separator will be sent to the shaking table to concentrate again.
8. The shaking table has an extremely concentrated effect for heavy minerals, in order to get a higher purity of coltan and tin, the middling from the 1st stage shaking table will go to the 2nd stage shaking table to concentrate again, so can reach
9. the highest recovery ratio and high purity coltan tin mixture.
10. All the 0-2mm coltan tin concentrate ore discharged from two stages shaking table will be sent to dewatering screen for dewatering water, then the concentrate ore will be sent to drying machine or dry in the sun depends on the customer.
11. The dry heavy minerals mixture will finally be sent to a high-intensity 3pcs disc dry magnetic separator, the gauss is adjustable to separate out each heavy mineral, such as iron, ilmenite, hematite, coltan and tin concentrate, etc. so as can get high-grade coltan and tin ore, usually, final coltan and tin grade can reach about 60-65% maximum depend on raw material conditions.
